Keeping your RV organized at all times may seem like a mission impossible, especially if you’re living in it. There are just too many things you need to take care of and organize. However, you can do it by using the right space-saving storage solutions and every corner of your RV. Here are 6 tips to help you stay organized all the time while in your RV.
1. Lists, Lists, Lists
One of the best ways to stay organized while in your RV is by making lists. You can make a list for many things, including a packing list, a weekly meal list, a cleaning schedule, an activity schedule for your kids, and more. Making these lists will make sure you have everything you need without wasting RV space on things you won’t need.
2. Have an Assigned Place for Everything
If you want to stay organized at all times while in your RV, have an assigned place for everything. From kitchen utensils to keys to clothes and all the other things you have with you should have a place on their own. Knowing exactly where things should be will help you easily clean up your RV.
3. Shelves and Racks on the Help
Shelves and racks are the best way to utilize the vertical space in your RV. Add them wherever possible to keep things organized. You can use shelves for storing towels, plates, and kitchen supplies in the cabinets and racks for storing spices, drying plates and cookware, and organizing your toiletries.
4. Take Advantage of Organizers
Organizers help you, well, organize things. You can use hanging clothes and shoe organizers for storing your clothes and shoes without taking up much space and bedside organizers to keep tiny items within the reach. You can also use cabinet organizers, a dish organizer, and a knife organizer to keep your kitchen supplies in one place.
5. Baskets and Food Containers for Ultimate Organization
Nested storage baskets, hanging baskets, and food containers are excellent space-saving solutions. You can use nested baskets for storing items like school supplies, books, and toys. The hanging baskets, on the other hand, are great for storing fruits and veggies without taking up kitchen space. And, you can use food containers for storing smaller foods like nuts, seeds, cookies, rice, beans, and similar.
6. Install Drawers Under Every Surface
You can never have enough drawers in your RV. Since your space is limited and doesn’t allow you to add a few drawers around your RV, be creative and install drawers under every surface where it’s possible. You can install drawers under the table, the bed, the living area (sofas), and the kitchen counters. Use them for storing smaller items like kitchen utensils, board games, smaller tech gadgets, speakers, and similar.
Anything Else???
We have two more organization tips for you: hang the trash can behind the kitchen counter under the sink and clean your RV at the end of each day. We know the latter sounds tedious, but it’s the best way to prevent total chaos in your motorhome. Plus, there will be less mess to take care of if you organize your RV one thing a day.
